Cosmos Designstar 2007

Interview Maubelli

1) name and surname?
Maurizio Ruette

2) nick at t1?
MauBelli

3) Do you know why I interview you today?
I have not the faintest idea, but I'm honored!

4) how to play magic?

the spring of 2002 more or less ... I played with several ups and downs, almost exclusively T1 ... my master the high Greistal, who besides teaching me how to do equations, the range also taught me the game of magic ...

5) What was your first deck?

the first ever a deck of 70 cards with a friend of mine and 8 lands ... never won one, I wonder why ... the first deck "cute" was a WW WU now evolved with the wonder of my friends who saw the blue little more!

6) played the first deck in a tournament?

the first tournament I had a RB who played only in the case Muccone huge and I died like a dog ... the first deck that I played a serious tournament seriously, the TAL, was the good old keeper

7) that result you did that day?

with RB not remember, but it was a tournament in case ... I remember that he won with WU Greistal with psionic blast and that half of the field were static or decks spaccaterra ... the true T1 was still light years away from us!
Col keeper went better, but I am not entered in the Top 8 ... Hulk smash and was the period of GAT ... I did not go very far!

8) your favorite deck in general?

are my two favorite decks: the dragon and the TPS ...
the dragon in my youth because of magic has given me the greatest satisfaction and made me do 2 Top8 TAL "when De Palma taught many to take the cards ...
TPS because I played the game for years and still ... I like a lot, although I've never led a tournament seriously ... when the wizard has created a storm took those doors ever seen! too good to do, undo and count mana and magic ... emotion every game ...

9) and your favorite deck now?

are currently madly in love with the combo key-time vault ... I find it simply exaggerated ... I would say that now I am torn between tezzeret "the legnest" and the timeless TPS ... no coincidence that two of my decks are ready for testing
quote manaless also a bunch that I like a lot ... one-deck-combo ... I said it all!

10) Why?

t ll and 3 for the strength with which they win quickly

11) a deck that you want to play?

any deck entirely my own, from envelopes to p9 ... the road is still long!

12) a result of which you are proud of?

have made 162 points in 3 DCI tournaments in T1 and have split the final of one of these with my teacher!

13) It 'important to be good players in t1?

Well obviously ... more than other is important not to make mistakes ... T1 is quite random, but chaos if aid doing stupid things do not go anywhere ...

14) testing will improve their skills?

is without a doubt ... one thing I like is to try to do in extreme situations, or play the same marginal hands to see if it meets the deck or not ... else you can try testing is done as Michele Aiuraudo, our plurimedagliato teammate: he keeps his hands to 6 cards, always ready to mulligan. He does it to better evaluate the hand and to avoid situations in tournament random too ...

15) is such a good player if he can win in situations where a normal player would lose?

in principle yes, but in my opinion the best player is what makes the greatest number of choices.
Although maybe it does make mistakes or smudges "theoretical" analysis of the moment is made by the same player who has to push a specific way: the more a player is good and more choice is the way in time the right one.

16) is important to be good deck builder?

it is very important because it allows you to fully exploit the potential of your deck and gives you that extra something in some crucial decisions. Play your deck, what you have created, designed, tested up to consume the envelope is not how to mount the deck of the world champion last night and then take it to a tournament!

17) no room for personal choice in t1 in bunches?

bad request ... the space is there, but often do not find it why do not you want to find ... now the T1 is quite settled and some innovations are mostly tech 1/2x, often even in the side. The T1 is the size of the bombs, and it is obvious that the more the more you find in bunches: deckbuild and the workout is for each player to find the solution that suits him more! Cards there are thousands, and will always be new ones: each has all the options you want, but it's up to him wearing his choices at competitive levels! It 'a new discourse of choices: follow the crowd is not the best, the best thing (at least in magic) would lead the mass ... far be it from me to say it's easy!

18) Branza limit was reasonable? Why?

because it has a little 'blue and contains the combo in general, and opened a little' space that some decks were cut with difficulty. I've never seen a goal as varied as in this period and I'm happy! I had my way would limit even the hood of the sensei! I state that I would not have ever thought to restrict the Branzi, but for now I'm happy with this choice!

19) What if I would limit the wizzard?

restrict the hood, but maybe something like slimiterei fact and gush ... cmq I'll leave it to them (a player can not make decisions like that, it's part) and I commend the work done in this 'Last time

20) a player who estimates?

Greistal to teach me something because he has always, in every sense

21) of t1 the best player of all time?

and who knows ... The world is chock full guru ... I maybe in a few years?

22) a person who would like to see all'invitational this year?

Biava, if only for the results is ... chapeau!

23) t1 is reviving the wizzard or the killing?

For as I do, a good and entertaining as the size of T1 now we never had ...

24) who wins the next tournament?

Fabio Margaglio

25) we finished want healthier?

Sure! Greeting all my teammates that are unique and all those who are slamming to revive the T1 in Italy, especially you Ligurian we always do a lot of fun!

number Standings after stage 10: the home straight!

and here we are at stage number 10, which was won by Fabio piece, once again on the summit and finalist Lucio Lodato. Let's take a look at the current situation of the rankings, pointing out that there are still three stages to play and nothing is decided yet.
We do a little calculation and try to use the system of exclusion of the worst stages for each player, which works like this:

stages played -> STAGES VALID
10 -> 7
11 -> 8
12 -> 9
13 -> 10
14 -> 10
15 -> 11
16 -> 12

then: those who have played more than 7 steps have been taken out of the points worst results they obtained. For example, I have taken three points by having played all ten stages, while those who played nine stages have been cleared of two, who has played only one 8, and finally, for all those who played 7 or less stops there were deductions.
The top 20 with the exception looks like this:

1) piece, Fabio 132
2) Lodato, Lucio 130
3) Aschieri, Emanuele 111
4) Negro, Alessio 108
5) Zannella, Valentino 102
6 ) Penone, Francesco 99
7) Schito, Francesco Maria 89
8) Pacino, Matthew 84
9) Ostigoni, Tiziano 81
10) of the fault, Marco 79
11) Lodato, Michael 73
12) Cattaruzza, Alessandro
73 13 ) Arnaldi, Nicholas 70
14) Fish, Claudio 66
15) Bands, David 64
16) Lovina, 64 Luke
17) Canessa, Andrea 61
18) Barbiero, David 54
19) Lodato, Viola 53
20) Herald, 52 Giulio

remind everyone that this is a virtual standings, because it excludes the worst results obtained so far , which will not be at the end of the league, which will end with a stop # 12 or # 13 (a Soon it will be decided on the total number of stages), will be deleted when the worst real.

remind everyone to check your score: the compile the rankings and I clearly a miscalculation or some other typographical error there may always be, I shall correct the error in the case.

Good season finale, we meet in Genoa on 31!
